Just how popular is pumpkin?

Sales of pumpkin-flavored foods in the U.S. jumped 14 percent, to about $308 million in 2013, according to the Nielsen Co., a market research firm. At the 2014 Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show in Orlando the award for Top Trend was presented to a pumpkin cheesecake.
