Move over ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ and ‘The Da Vinci Code’ – ‘Overheard in Dublin’ is just as popular

Overheard in Dublin, which chronicles jokes heard on the streets of Dublin, is now on the fifth edition in the series, after hitting the shelves for the first time in 2006.

So far 120,000 copies of the books have been sold and according to Nielsen, who monitor book sales, it was recently listed in the top 20 best-sellers in Ireland since records began.

Overheard in Dublin is the highest-ever ranking book from an Irish publisher in the Nielsen scan.

And according to its publisher, Gill & Macmillan, this means it is “up there with The Da Vinci Code, To Kill a Mockingbird and Sebastian Barry’s The Secret Scripture”.
