WITH FOUR DEBUTS IN the top ten, overall album sales are up 4% over last week, but down 11% over the same week last year and down 14% year-to-date over 2013. Physical CD sales are up 7% over last week, down 9% over the same week last year and down 16% year-to-date over 2013. Digital album sales are up 1% over last week, down 14% over the same week last year and down 13% year-to-date over 2013. Digital track sales are down 6% over last week, down 13% over the same week last year and down 12% year-to-date over 2013. Track-equivalent album sales are up 0.4% over last week and down 13.2% year-to-date over 2013.

Bruce Springsteen’s “High Hopes” debuts at number one on the Top Albums chart with 99,000 units sold. It is his seventh chart-topper in the SoundScan era and fourth straight, dating back to 2007’s “Magic.”
