The self publishing market in the U.S. is growing rapidly. According to statistics from the market research company Bowker , the number of titles has almost tripled since 2006. On the market at the party conquer an extremely high concentration.
According to Bowker currently are around 235,000 printed or digital self-publishing titles, 287% more than six years ago. Although both areas would grow further, the number of e-books, however, to put more:
- Currently printed books while 63% had the highest proportion of all self-publishing titles.
- Since 2006, the number of digital titles but had grown by 129%, the number of P-books by “only” 33%.
“There are no longer just cost publishers at work – Self Publishing is coming out of the dark corner and is on its way to the mainstream,” said Bowker manager Beat Barblan .
