Tesco share price: Retailer slashes spending on advertising by nearly two-thirds

According to market research firm Nielsen, Britain’s leading supermarkets spent a total of £34.6 million on advertising during the four weeks ending November 9 – 12 percent less than a year ago. Tesco, traditionally one of the biggest investors in advertising, reduced its spending by 61 percent year-on-year to £2.9 million, the fourth lowest amount among the top 10.
