Women Led 58% of Book Spending in 2012

Bowker has released its 2013 U.S. Book Consumer Demographics and Buying Behaviors Annual Review, revealing that online booksellers accounted for 44 percent of American book sales in 2012.

The report also discovered that women led 58 percent of book spending in 2012, gaining three percentage points compared to the year before. Bowker also showed how certain genres are driving the eBook revolution.
