WITH SIX ALBUMS DEBUTING in the top ten, overall album sales are up 4% over last week but down 2% over the same week last year. Year-to-date album sales remain down 8% over the same period in 2013. Physical CD sales are up 8% over last week, down 2% over the same week last year and down 8% year-to-date over 2013. Digital album sales are down 1% over last week, down 2% over the same week last year and down 8% year-to-date over 2013. Digital track sales are down 1% over last week, down 4% over the same week last year and down 12% year-to-date over 2013. Track-equivalent album sales are up 2.7% over last week and down 8.9% year-to-date over 2013.
The “Frozen” soundtrack remains at number one on the Top Albums chart for the sixth non-consecutive week, with 6,600 units sold, its lowest weekly total since the first week of March.

Jann Arden leads a pack of six consecutive debuts on the Top Albums chart, entering at No. 2 with 4,600 units sold of “Everything Almost.” It is her highest charting album in the SoundScan era, but it is her lowest first week sales total for a new studio release.
